NEIL BROMMELL
At 17 I went to work with my Father, a successful entrepreneur and handyman, renovating a Glebe home. My first task was stripping the plaster walls with a shovel. As the years went by and the dust settled, I realized the value of the skills I had been aquiring. I had learned to do plaster, drywall, flooring, carpentry, plumbing, painting and just about everything else. Around then I began work installing and building trade show exhibits and eventually made a move into high tech, another one of my passions. That went bust and I returned to my roots and founded Manworks in 2003. My wife Lisa and I have lived in the Glebe since 1991. Our first home was a 3-storey on Woodlawn Avenue and now, along with our two small children, we live in a 1970's infill (which is always under construction) on Queen Elizabeth Place.
In my spare time (not much) I enjoy working on my 1965 Barracuda Formula S and hunting for parts for it. Ebay is a great place for that and so is the local Mopar car club, Capital Area Mopars.
I am also the current Lansdowne Park Committee Chairperson for the Glebe Community Association. I have a small GCA website, to help the community keep track of Lansdowne Park issues and concerns.
